Novel still waiting for its proof copy to be approved

I received the proof copy from CreateSpace and have never gotten back to them with the necessary corrections--mostly because I've been too busy. Yes, it is too a good enough excuse...
Speaking of novels, it is now November--National Novel Writing Month. Have you ever thought of writing a novel, or, let's face it, any kind of a book? The rules over at this well-known month-long challenge are notoriously lax: if you say it's a novel, it is, even if it is nonfiction, fan fiction, or a documentary on the lives of angora goats in Idaho. What gets a person writing, according to author and challenge creator Chris Baty, is the presence of a deadline.

If you say to yourself, "But it's the sixth of November and I haven't started yet...there's no way I can make it to 50,000 words, having lost five days already," well, that isn't a good excuse. Many of the rest of us are just dragging ourselves into the fray at this point, and you never know--you might finish anyway. If not, at least you'll have 500 or 4300 or 43,500 words written at the end of the month that wouldn't have gotten written if you hadn't tried.

I'd love to hear from you, if you do.

A tender love story...or is it swashbuckling adventure?...or maybe just a little comedy to lighten your day...
